The Himalayan wolf (Canis himalayensis) is native to the Himalayan Mountains. They eat mostly rodents and rabbits. They live in packs of usually up to 8 members, and they defend territory that can extend for several hundred miles. They don't defend it too much, because they share some territory with Indian wolves. They get along with their neighbors. Less than 350 Himalayan wolves are alive today. 21 live in zoos, and 18 are being used for breeding.
