Prevent age spots on your face

Age spots, which are also commonly called liver spots, are often found on the face, hands, arms,
and shoulders: places which are often exposed to the sun. These spots are often harmless and require no treatment. However, they are often ugly and cosmetically, people try to find ways to reduce their appearance. This can include skin-bleaching and removal. However, there are much simpler ways to deal with them, and most of those ways are prevention measures.

The first of these measures is simply to avoid the sun between 10am and 4pm. This is the time when the sun’s rays are at their peak of intensity, and when your skin is most at risk. Another simple step is to use sunscreen. By putting it on 15-30 minutes before going outside, you will be protected from both UVA and UVB rays. A sunscreen with an SPF of over 15  is recommended. Remember to reapply every two hours, or more often if swimming. Keeping your skin covered and protected from the sun will also help prevent age spots. Things such as wide-brimmed hats and tightly-woven fabrics to cover the arms and legs will help.

These tips will not only help you to avoid age spots, but they will also help keep your skin looking young and healthy. And although these spots typically do not hit until the 40s, they often do affect much younger people. So protect yourself and your skin from the sun in these various ways, and keep it young and fresh for many years.
