Gangnam Style is a Korean language colloquialism that refers to a luxurious lifestyle associated with the Gangnam district, an affluent area of Seoul.

2. Psy’s theory :

He compares Gangnam to ladies. He says They’re “noble at the daytime, going crazy at night-and the lyric says I am the right guy for the lady who is like that.”

3. There’s actually meaning behind his work :
  Psy says the song is about “the perfect girlfriend who knows when to be refined and when to get wild.”

4. He’s not your typical pop star :

He says the song is a satire of conspicuous consumption in South Korea…And that’s unusual for South Korean music, especially in K-Pop, which is known as bubblegum pop.

His real name is: Park Jae-sang.

He made a public plea this weekend for the city to rehire the 14 lifeguards fired for shooting a spoof of his viral hit “Gangnam Style” at the El Monte Aquatic Center. He said, “I’m begging you to do not fire (them) please, because they were just enjoy(ing) their souls with some other cultures,” Psy called out to El Monte officials during an interview on MTV on Friday.

In the season premiere of Saturday Night Live this past weekend, Psy appeared in a spoof of his own viral video, “Gangnam Style.”
